Office Design – Professional Can Be Fun

June 11, 2018

Can you have an office design that is professional but still fun to live with every day? Sure!

Use an accent wall in office design

How to take a standard high rise office design and make it your own, though? Start by adding a great wall finish like this geometric stencil pattern. Try hand painting an accent wall in professional tones of gray blue. We started with Benjamin Moore 2062-40 as a jumping off point. The colors were then hand mixed so they coordinate with the slate blue, linen chair. These colors are elegant and sophisticated, so it’s the pattern that makes it a little more dynamic.

Enlarge pattern scale for graffiti style vibe.

Painting one wall in the office is an easy project that will create great impact. In this space, we selected the wall that you see as you come in through the door. It’s also the wall that is the background in the loan officer’s videos as she sits at her desk.

The pattern was designed to coordinate with this fun, acrylic side chair. Can you see the relationship between the two patterns? We took the funky, graphic design from the chair and whomped up the scale to give it a slightly graffiti style.

Office design ideas

The final result was a lot of fun. I mean, it certainly creates an office design where a young professional would enjoy coming to work every day!

TIPS FROM THE PROS

  1. Keep the color palette professional.
  2. Get creative with scale.
  3. Show off your high-end design skills by coordinating design motifs.
