As many of you know we were lucky enough to work with Georgetown Jingle this year on the renovation of the pediatric wing at Georgetown University Hospital. What an experience! Walking in to the wing before renovations was a bit glum. One of the parents mentioned that it was important to the healing process to be in nice surroundings. Thankfully Georgetown Jingle came to the rescue and has been raising funds for this monumental update.
I get a little emotional in hospitals, my picture is a little wobbly. This is the wing before. The punch of color was a nice try.

The Jingle designers came up with a fun design scheme: the streets of Georgetown! Danziger Design, SCW Interiors and Gloria Blalock got us started with these terrific renderings. We were excited to get painting!
Boy did we have fun! Yes, we were right in the middle of it, working around all the contractors, people laying floors, wiring and what have you. A little chaotic! It was a nice team of contractors who joked with us that they used “masonry” bits on our “brick” wall. 🙂
The transformation was so dramatic! The flat fronted doors were painted with faux moldings and windows. Shep, here, is guarding the Firehouse door, making sure everyone is safe and sound.

Here we are at the inauguration party. One of the parents told her story about being in the pediatric wing. It was nice to know we were a part of the transformation.
Thank you to Dr. Aziza Shad, Danziger Design, Shazalyn Cavin Winfrey and Gloria Blalock!
