If you’ve stopped in to the 2017 DC Design House this year you will see what’s trending now in the high end design world. When Marika Meyer Interiors challenged us to come up with a motif that would wow her, we had some fun coming up with the Guardian Lion motif. This handsome fella is on the custom playing cards and stationery in the Lady’s Retreat. Our stylized lion is in good company with this trending motif.
We just loved this pattern so much we had to use it somewhere else. Somewhere that appealed to our philanthropic side. After some investigation, we came across Vida Design Studio, a socially conscious company who collaborates with artists and manufacturers to create wearable art. Our first project with them is the Guardian Tote Bag: made in California and supports literacy programs to the makers of their products.

The tote is a great size. It features sturdy, weather resistant fabric and dual 100% natural cotton bull denim shoulder straps. We’ve been using our for the farmers market and for a little plein air work while the weather is perfect. Browse more photos and details in our shop.

Coming soon: this great clutch purse. Crafted of leather and printed canvas.

And 100% cotton pocket square.
So, if you feel good showing off your wearable art, knowing that you are helping to support literacy programs and civil rights programs, then this is the motif for you!
Best,
