This is a dupione silk (I love the way it shimmers) hand painted with a koi pattern. Hand painted fabrics are like artwork to me. There is a certain soul you can’t duplicate with machine made patterns. I’m the kind of person who likes everything in the house to be custom made: crusty bread, my wedding dress, personal stationery and wall finishes. There is something so much more interesting to a hand made piece.
Hand painted fabrics can go anywhere. Think about table linens, napkins, and table runners. We’ve done outdoor fabrics with accent pillows and umbrellas.
