Stylist Missy Walsh satisfies her nesting instinct and turns her 13,000 square foot house into a refined and inviting family home on more than 40 acres in Potomac, MD.
Southern Home Magazine, September 2017
A beautiful article with spectacular inside and outside views of Missy Walsh’s Maryland home. Missy Walsh satisfies that nesting instinct with recipe of hand painted finishes.
“I like there to be connectivity among the spaces, and my husband likes green, so that goes a long way in creating a peaceful environment,” Missy says.
Billet Collins added artistry with a 360 degree mural in the dining room, and painted floors throughout. The large scale foyer walls were brought into scale with a soft limestone block technique. And a sophisticated pattern below the chair rail was added referring to the fretwork of the upstairs built in cabinets.
Says Missy, “Byrd, was my grandmother’s maiden name. She played a special part in my life, so I like to include almost-hidden elements in my decor that play off her name’s alternate spelling.” Avian cues appear around the home in the form of birdcage lights and silhouettes in wallpaper.
